Dax Daryl Johnson

Wednesday August 15th I woke up and things were a little different with me.  I felt tired and my contractions were very painful.  Although not consistent so we went about our day hanging out as a family.  Being on Bed rest has been boring but not to bad since I have had so much help from so many wonderful people.  Wednesday was a little funny though because I had been scheduled to have little Dax that am around 6 and due to a mis-calculation in my due date by (2 days) they required that I move my C-Section date to Friday.  I was nervous since I had never even made it to 36 weeks before but after having an amnio on Tuesday and finding out that his lungs weren't ready for delivery I was more than happy to wait.  So since Ryan already had the day off and my parents were here we decided to head over the the park so I could plant my big butt int the shade and enjoy watching everyone swim at the pool.  It was a relaxing day but contractions were constant   Needless to say by 10PM had put a call into my Dr to let him know they were getting more frequent.  He told me to keep a close eye on them and as soon as I have more than 4 in one hour to call him and come in.  Well if you know me you know I don't like to bother people so by 11PM everyone in the house was asleep and so was I.  By 12:00 I was woken up by the largest contraction of my life and then another and another and another.  By this time I got up and called the on call Dr. to let him know and waking him up made me feel oh so bad so after chatting with him for 30 seconds he told me either go in or go back to bed and let him sleep (he has the personality of a ROCK).  So I apologized and let him go back to sleep not wanted to bother him (SILLY ME).  By 2PM I was delusional and just kept hitting my Lap timer on my iPhone with every contraction not aware they were so close.  By 2:15 the hospital calls me and wakes  Ryan up.  Ryan asked me how I was feeling and needless to say he jumped out of bed after I handed him my iPhone and told him I think I am getting pretty close and maybe I should call my Dr. and not the on call Dr.  He looked at me and said, "Ari Anna my dear are they really 3 min apart?"  After looking at him with my tired no sleep eyes I said, "oh my gosh are they really?"  Needless to say I was awake and calling my Dr. only to be told we needed to race to the hospital and we would be having little Dax very soon.  So we woke my dad up got a super fast blessing for calmness and safety for me and for Dax and raced out the door.  By the time we got to the hospital they were already scrubbed and ready for me to go into surgery.  My wonderful Dr. came in on his night off to assist the very boring no personality on call Dr. :)

By 4:17 on the 16th the surgery was over and I was looking at my beautiful baby boy.  Dax Daryl Johnson was healthy and beautiful weighing in at 6lbs9oz and 20 inches long.  He is a miracle and I am so very blessed to have the boys that I have.  Ryan was so excited to get to go and ring that hospital bell telling everyone that heard that sound that we had a sweet little baby boy.  Although I was silly and waited way to long to go into the hospital it all turned out wonderful and we are so very thankful.
